DTI Business Name Registration System

To expedite the process of registering a business name, the DTI has put in place an online registration system known as the Business Name Registration System (BNRS). Here's how you register with the DTI online:

Create an Account: Go to the official DTI website and register for a BNRS account. You will have to set up login credentials and supply your personal data.

Verify Name Availability: To find out if the name you've chosen for your company is available, use the BNRS platform. If the name is available for registration or if it is already in use, the system will make that clear.

Complete the application form: After confirming that your chosen business name is available, provide the necessary information online, including your contact information, the name you would like to use for your planned business, and a summary of your business ventures.

Upload Supporting Documents: As instructed by the online application procedure, scan and upload the appropriate documents, such as a valid ID from the government and proof of payment, if applicable.

Pay the Registration Fee: Use the online payment gateway that is a part of the BNRS platform to process the registration fee payment. The location and kind of business determine the registration charge.

Await Processing: The DTI will handle your registration after receiving your application and payment. Using the BNRS platform, you can keep an eye on the progress of your application.

Obtain Certificate of Registration: The BNRS platform will provide you with a digital Certificate of Registration as soon as your application is accepted. The registration of your business name is attested to by this certificate.

Renewal: Recall that the DTI requires a business name registration to be updated every five years. Online renewal is also made easier via the BNRS platform.
